'Rushden Kennels' ~ Hounds & Terriers

Dante 'Rushden New Approach' (1RCC),

Welcome to the website of Rushden Kennels .....

We are a small show kennel located in the beautiful 'Orchard County' of Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. We specialise in Whippets (although we also show Parson Russell Terriers) and we strive to breed whippets who are multi- purpose' and truly ' FIT FOR FUNCTION'  ~ who are capable of competing equally well in the show ring, on the race track and out in the field.

Rushden hounds and terriers are bred, loved, raced and exhibited by
Janet Duke & Tracy Gill.

Our Philosophy.....

We strive for quality and breed type in all our dogs and place great emphasis on correct movement.
Our primary aim is to produce, sound, versatile, healthy dogs who are bred not only for temperament & breed type but also with beauty in mind as well as being able to meet their functional expectations.

" It is my belief that whippets should be able to do the job they were bred for, be that a pot filler or a poor mans racehorse. To this end I strive to breed dogs that not only meet the KC standard and maintain breed type, but that also have the ability and speed to catch their dinner or cover 300 yards in as fast a time as possible. Lose these abilities and you lose the breed! "

......... Janet Duke

We campaign our dogs under English Kennel Club  rules in Northern Ireland and on mainland UK, and under FCI rules in Southern Ireland.

We breed occasionally, and sometimes have puppies available to permanent, loving homes.
