What's been happening at Rushden Kennels ...
Ebony wins 2nd Overall in a huge Puppy Stakes Class!

Janet & I are absolutely delighted with our little black beauty Ebony, 'Rushden Black In A Flash' who continues her winning streak. At Bull Breeds Championship Show under whippet specialist Mr Steven O'Brien (Sheol), she came 2nd overall (out of 51 entries) in the Puppy Stakes at just turned 6 months old. Unfortuately she missed her whippet breed class as it clashed with the Stakes. However Scarlett 'Rushden Caught In The Act' was a very respactable 3rd in Open Bitch and her dam Lola 'Rushden Ooh La La Jun Ch. CJW'08, CW'09, CW'11' won the Veteran Bitch class again and another Reserve Green Star under judge Mrs I. Pattison.
We also had 1 parson russell entered at the show and boy did he do us proud! George 'Rushden Gorgeous George Jun Ch, CJW'13, CW'13' won the Open Dog Class, Green Star Dog (his 5th) and Best Of Breed under terrier specialist Mr. Ross Delmar (Shillelagh)

We had a great day at Belfast Championship Show on 26th September. We had 1 whippet and 2 parsons entered and we are delighted that all 3 of them are now qualified for Crufts 2016.
Tracy showed the whippet, Jazz 'Rushden All That Jazz Jun Ch.' winning 3rd in a strong Post Graduate Bitch Class under Stuart Milner (UK). Janet showed the parsons with Dodge 'Rushden Dodging Bullet Jun Ch.' getting 3rd in Post Graduate D/B & George 'Rushden Gorgeous George Jun Ch, CJW'13, CW'13' winning Open Dog, Best Dog & Reserve Best Of Breed. We are delighted for Samantha Allen who owns and showed Dodge's litter brother Bran 'Rushden Winter Is Coming' at his 1st KC show who came 2nd in his class and qualified him for Crufts also. Parson judge was Rita McCarry Beattie (Ire).

More great results in the ring and on the race track for team Rushden at The Sporting Whippet Club N.I. Event on 13th Sept. In the Open Show Ebony  won the  Baby Puppy Class for the 2nd month in a row, Oscar was 3rd in Whippet Dog, Jazz came 3rd in Whippet Bitch  and her mum Lola won the Veteran Whippet class. Siblings Ash & Oscar came 1st in the pairs class &Frankie (Owned by Lisa Dumigan) got another 1st in the Working Whippet Class. In racing both our Oscar, & Frankie (Owned by Lisa Dumigan) won their Grade ‘A’ racing heats with Oscar then finishing Runner Up in the Grade ‘A’ racing final. & Frankie close behind him to take 3rd place. Ash came a close 2nd in her  hotly contested Grade ’B’ racing heat.

Then on to the Sporting Whippet Club N.I. Champion of Champions 2015 for which both Lola & Oscar had qualified for this during the year (having each won a Best In Show at one of the Sporting Whippet Club’s 6 events) We were delighted when our beautiful veteran Bitch Lola, who is 8 1/2 , showed her socks off and flew round the ring and was crowned the clubs Overall Champion of Champions for 2015 by breed specialist Felicity Thompson of the Barnesmore Whippet Kennels.

Repeat mating of Dante & Flash.

We are pleased to report that the much awaited repeat mating between Dante 'Rushden New Approach' & Flash 'Flash Of Blue Lightning' has finally taken place. It looks as if all is going according to plan as Flash appears to be in whelp. (See photo below showing Flash at 5 weeks after mating) All being well puppies are due in February. Check out the puppy pages for more information and updates about this mating over the next few weeks.

''Marne'' starts her show career in style !!

Great news from England where the first pup from our Dante X Lola litter made their debut in the show ring aged 6 1/2 months. ''Marne'' Rushden What's Yours Is Mine was at Reading & District Kennel Association Open Show on Saturday 30th Nov, with owner/ handler Annekka Baldwin-Campbell. The pair did really well winning 1st in the Puppy Dog or Bitch Class, 1st in the Junior Dog or Bitch Class, Best Puppy In Breed and Hound Puppy Group 4, under Judge John Thirwell (Ferndel)
Annekka then showed Marne in the Any Variety Puppy Stakes Class (19 entries) under hound specialist Martin Sanders (Castelloch), and we are delighted to announce that they won that too!!
 ** Congratulations Annekka & Marne !! **
We are so proud of them both and are sure this great team will have a very promising  future  xx

Here is Marne's very first critique from breed judge John Thirwell :
''Puppy (4,1) 1st Rushden What's Yours Is Mine, baby but of good type and outline, feminine head, balanced body with plenty of depth for
age. Moved soundly. BEST PUPPY and PUPPY GROUP 4.''

A great day at The Hound Club Of N.I. show

We had the most fantastic day at The Hound Club Of Northern Ireland Open show on 16th November 2013.
As usual whippets had by far the largest entry and we showed five of our own under Hound Specialist Mr R.F. Spencer of the ''Talgavar'' Kennels in the U.K.
''Dextor'' Rushden So You Think, won the Limit Dog Class. His partner in crime ''Ash'' Rushden Black Caviar, Jun Ch, CJW'13 won the Limit Bitch Class, and her father ''Dante'' Rushden New Approach took 3rd place in Open Dog. We had two bitches entered in the Open Bitch Class, ''Breez
e'' Mossbawnhill Causin A Stir At Rushden and ''Lola'' Rushden Ooh La La Jun Ch, CJW'08, CW'09, CW'11. It's not easy when trying to show two kennel mates in the same class as they tend to look for each other and for us. Janet handled Breez e to a very respectable 4th place (Reserve) and Lola, handled by Tracy won the Class.
Three Rushden whippets, Lola, Ash & Dextor were all then in the final line up to compete for Best Of Breed. The star of the day was most definately ''Lola'' who went on to win Best Of Breed and then topped it all off by going
Reserve Best In Show !!
We are so proud of Lola who appears to be back in top form after having a lot of time out of the show ring this year concentrating on maternity duties x

Crufts 7th March 2013
This year Rushden decided to enter three dogs for Crufts, although we had several more qualified.
We took two of our black whippets, Dante 'Rushden New Approach' and his daughter Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar Jun Ch.'
Due to the very large entry in whippets there are always 2 judges, this year Per Iverson from Norway judged the dogs and Cath Whimpany (UK) the bitches. Both Ash and Dante showed really well but unfortunately this year neither was placed.
We also took 'Rushden Gorgeous George' one of our parson russell terriers. His breed was judged by Mrs Sheila Atter a parson russell specialist, and in a strong  Junior Dog Class he was awarded VHC (Very Highly Commended - 5th place). Well done George!!

A great start to 2013 - Ash wins BOB & Hound Goup 2 !
Our first show of 2013 was the Joint Cocker Club's Of  Ireland All Breed O pen Show on 27th January.
Judging terriers breeds and the group was a Mr R Dalton. In parson russells he found both his junior class winners in our George & Keira,Rushden Gorgeous George taking 1st JD, & Rushden Show Stopper 1st JB. Keira  then went onto be Best Bitch & Reserve Best of Breed.
The hound breeds and group were judged by Lynda Dunn (Ulmara Saluki's). We only had siblings Rushden Don't Push It 'Ruby' & Rushden Black Caviar 'Ash' with us today,  entered in the Open Classes. Both Ruby and Ash won their classes and were then awarded Best Dog & Best Bitch. In the challenge for Best Of Breed it was Ash that came out on top, beating her brother with her superb free flowing movement.
To really top the day off Ash was then placed runner up in the Hound Group, a great start to the year I'm sure you'll agree !!

Black Caviar gains her 'Junior Champion' title

On Thursday 27th December we travelled down to Cloghran for the Dublin Dog Show Society's All Breed Championship Show. We had 3 whippets and 1 parson russell terrier entered at this, the last show of the year, and we had two Irish Judges judging our breeds.
The judge for parsons was
Mr Seamus Oates and Rushden Gorgeous George, won the Junior Dog Class and Reserve Green Star Dog. George now has 3 Junior (Excellent) wins towards his Junior Champion Title, and only needs 2 more such wins to gain this title, he is doing really well considering he doesn't turn a year old until 14th January!
Our whippet judge was Mr Ian Finney (Gulliagh), who was awarding Green Stars in the breed for the first time. He found his Junior Dog winner in our Ruby, 'Rushden Don't Push It' who has started to mature and showed really well today. His Junior Bitch winner was Ruby's sister, Ash'Rushden Black Caviar' who gained her Irish Junior Champion Title with her class win today...... Well done Ash, we knew you could do it !! Lola 'Rushden Ooh La La Jun Ch, CJW'08, CW'09, CW'11' was making a come back to the show ring today after almost 6 months off, and showed well, managing a very respectable 3rd place in Open Bitch.

We are delighted that our homebred black beauty Ash, will now be known as ......
'Rushden Black Caviar, Jun Ch'

Ash's Junior Champion rosette.
George wins 'Best In Show' !!

Halls Mill Inn, situated on the main Banbridge to Portadown road, was the venue for Dessie Mackins Christmas Show on Saturday 22nd December 2012. There were all the usual show classes for whippets, terriers and lurchers and all our dogs did us proud......
Teri McVitty judged the whippet and lurcher classes with our Ash taking 2nd place in the whippet bitch class, and Finlay 1st place in the dog class. Finlay then went on to win Champion Whippet!
Graham Meek was the terrier judge and he placed Keira second in the terrier pup class and George first in the russell class. George then went on to win Champion Terrier!
Both Finlay and George then had to compete against the Champion Lurcher for overall Best In Show, which was decided by the two judges. After some deliberation George was selected as the Overall Champion In Show!!

We c ame home with lots of bottles of wine won as prizes and two lovely presentation boxes each containing two bottles of champagne and two beautiful glasses.

She showed our young parson russell dog 'Rushden Gorgeous George' under terrier specialist Mr Paul Wilkinson. This was George's first time showing in England and as always he showed his socks off, winning the Junior Dog class, Best Puppy Dog and then topping it all with Best Puppy In Breed !!

A sad goodbye to old friends .....

The first two weeks in November were a very difficult time here at Rushden as we had to say the final sad goodbye to three of our beloved animals.
Amy 'Indira Al Kalipha', our first ever saluki, had success in the showring as a youngster winning numerous Green Stars (CAC's) and Best of Breeds before we decided to retire her as she didn't seem to be enjoying showing any more. She developed a cancerous tumour and on 1st November we decided the time had come to let her go.  We will miss Amy, and so will Alfred our bedlington whippet lurcher whom she shared her life with for fourteen years... RIP sweet lady (19/6/98 - 1/11/12) xx
A few days later, on 5th November our eldest whippet Marcus, 'Khabaray Paco Rabbane at Dumbriton' became very unsteady on his legs.
We decided the kindest thing we could do was to let this old gentleman cross the rainbow bridge... Marcus is the father, grandfather & great grandfather of many rushden (& other) whippets and has left a great legacy through his progeny. RIP Marcus, a true gentleman among whippets (22/11/98 - 5/11/12) xx

Our third goodbye was to our beautiful tabby tom cat 'Oscar'. Oscar was found wandering along the roadside as a kitten and adopted by us. He had to have his tail amputated as a youngster when it became damaged but he grew into the most handsome cat, so friendly,  always purring & looking a fuss.  Oscar began to dramatically lose weight and on taking him to the vets he was diagnosed with a large lump on one of his kidneys. We said a sad goodbye to him on 9th November...... RIP special man xx

'Gone but never forgotten'

Cilla 'Black Sykes' aka Rushden Black In Style At Veredon

Russell Sykes of the Veredon Whippet Kennels, Yorkshire has recently had some beautiful black and white photographs taken of Cilla 'Rushden Black In Style At Veredon'. Cilla is litter sister to 'Rushden Black Caviar', our Ash.
The photo's shown below were taken by the very talented Barbara & Jeff Poole (B.J. Photography). We think they are absolutely stunning!!

Here she is ....... 'Cilla'

and finally, here is another stunning photo of Cilla with Russell, her owner, ........ captured beautifully by B.J. Photography once again x

Belfast Championship Show ......

Belfast Dog Show Society held their annual All Breed Championship Show on the last weekend in September at The King's Hall Complex, Balmoral. Both Hounds and Terriers were shown on the first day ~ Saturday 29th.
We had Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar' entered in the Junior Bitch class in w
hippets under UK judge Colin Ashmore. She showed really well and took second place with Mr Ashmore writing this lovely critique about her :
Nice type of bitch of good quality, pleasing shape & outline, good top line & underline with correct rise over loin, feminine head & long neck, deep chest with well sprung ribs, strong hindquarters with good width, well turned stifles, moved true with good rear drive. '
The Parson Russell Terrier Judge was Mr R Cross, again from the UK and George, 'Rushden Gorgeous George' did us proud winning  1st Junior Dog, Best Dog, Reserve Best Of Breed &  Best Puppy In Breed.  He later went on to win Terrier Puppy Group 4, under terrier specialist Mr Harry O'Dononoghue (Ire)
Janet also showed George in the Purina Pro Plan / Dog World Puppy Dog Stakes where he took a very respectable 4th Place (Reserve) under UK Judge Mr Martin Sanders.

Ash is crowned 'Whippet Puppy Racing Champion 2012'

The Sporting Whippet Club N.I. held their final event of the year on Sunday 16th September at Dunsilly Kennels, Antrim, and  with the exception of a few showers, the weather was reasonably good. The hardworking committee  were there bright and early, setting up for the annual end of year barbeque, this year with the extra addition of game stew on the menu. With the unexpected arrival of a very talented folk group the day was soon in full swing !!
Show classes were judged by
Patsy McCoy, and Rushden Whippets once again featured in the results. Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar' won the puppy class, Finlay 'Fallswater Free Spirit of Rushden' was third in the whippet dog class and Renoir 'Rushden Impressionist' - making his debut in the veteran class, came a very respectable third. Patsy then went on award Ash - Reserve Best In Show!!
Ash also put on a great performance on the race track to finish Runner Up in Whippet Puppy Racing.
The days success wasn't to end there, as Ash was then crowned The Sporting Whippet Clubs
'Whippet Puppy Racing Champion 2012'
having obtained the highest number of points overall at the six Sporting Whippet Events of 2012, she was given a beautiful presentation jacket to commemorate the occassion!!
(Finlay also finished runner up in the adult competition),
Ash has continued to amaze us all year with her success in both the show ring and on the race field, we are very proud of our homebred black beauty!

Ash won the Puppy Class then went on to be 'Reserve Best In Show'

The Weather Couldn't Dampen Our Spirits At Donemana

The weather was not good for the North West Lurcher, Terrier & Whippet Club held at Barrontop Farm, Donemana on Sunday 9th September. Bitterly cold with heavy rain showers on and off throughout the day.....it certainly wasn't whippet weather !
Despite the weather there was a great turnout. The day started with the '32 Counties Champion Of Champions Whippet Racing' all dogs taking part in this had to have qualified by winning the racing at one of the previous shows held throughout the year.  We had both Vixen and Finlay qualified, but unfortunately they were both drawn in the same heat. With only the winning dog making it through we knew at least one of them would be knocked out but both of them put in a great performance Vixen winning the heat and Finlay finishing a close second behind her. The final had some of the top racing whippets from throughout the year competing in it so we were delighted when Vixen(who is now 6 years old) finished in a very respectable thirdplace.

The Showing followed the racing and the judge for whippets was Seamus Kearney of the 'Bankend' kennel. Seamus used to show and still keeps whippets himself. He selected our
Ash as the winner of the  whippet pup class and Finlay took first place in the
whippet dog class. Finlay then went onto take Reserve Best Whippet In Show!!
At the end of the day the winners of all the puppy classes competed for Best Puppy In Show, Ash again showed really well and finished the day being awarded
3rd Best Puppy In Show.
It was certainly a successful day for us, despite the dreadful weather !!

Gorgeous George wins Best In Match

'Rushden Gorgeous George' the newest member of our Parson Russell Terrier team made his debut at a dog match run by The Northern Ireland Whippet Club at the end of August. Being only 7 months old he was entered into the puppy section of the match and won his way through several rounds to make it to the puppy final. Handled by Janet he showed really well beating a lovely young whippet to become the Puppy Match Winner!
At the end of the evening George then had to compete against the winner of the adult section (incidentally another whippet) to see who would ultimately be
'Best In Match' ........ and he won !!
Many thanks to judge Benita Morrison (Benzdenz) for appreciating George ~ we hope he continues to do us proud x

*Rushden Whippets take Best In Show & Reserve Best In Show *

It was nice to see a new face judging whippets @ the Sporting Whippet Club N.I. event in August. Michelle Rafferty was judging whippets for the first time and we were delighted that she appreciated our breeding. The day started well for us with Ash, winning the puppy class and her litter brother Ruby taking second place. Merlin, owned by Graham Meek but bred by us, won the whippet dog class and our Finlay was second. Tia who incidentally is Ash & Ruby's grandmother and Merlin's mum, came 2nd in the veteran whippet class and another of her grandchildren ~ Ringo (a son of Merlin) won the Member's Class !
It really was a great day for our breeding when Merlin 'Rushden Cast's A Spell Over Brackaghmoss' & our puppy Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar' were chosen by Michelle to be Best In Show & Reserve Best In Show respectively !!

Ash then continued her winning ways on the race track by going on to win the Puppy Racing yet again.......as yet this year she has been unbeaten in whippet puppy races

Best Puppy In Show for Ruby !!

Feaghbridge Dog Track in Coalisland was the venue for the Dublin Working Terrier, Lurcher & Whippet Show on the last Sunday in July. The racing here is different to what our whippets are normally use to as it is round a sand track with bends as opposed to on a straight grass track.
The whippets raced in heats of  four dogs and we decided to enter two of ours
~ Vixen & Finlay.
Both dogs put in great performances and managed to win their heats and qualify for the final. Unfortunately Vixen sustained an injury and pulled up lame in the final but Finlay, up against stiff competition did himself proud and finished third overall

We had success in the Show classes too : Milo showed the youngsters how it should be done and won the border terrier class at the grand old age of 8! After their success on the track
Finlay also took  3rd in the Whippet Dog Class & Vixen  was2nd in the Veteran Whippet Class.
There was a large turnout of whippet pups and we were delighted when the judge pulled our handsome red fawn boy, Ruby, out first to win the class. Ruby was later chosen by all the judges to be awarded the title .....

Success in the ring and on the track at Sporting Whippet.

Mr Brian Doak (Rosslyn) was the judge at The Sporting Whippet Club N.I. Event on Sunday 22nd July.
Rushden Whippets had success in both the show ring and on the race track.
Tia 'Rushden Hot Gossip' took first place in the veteran whippet class and her son Merlin'Rushden Cast's A Spell Over Brackaghmoss' (owned by Graham Meek) was second in the whippet dog class, beaten by our Finlay, 'Fallswater Free Spirit Of Rushden' who won the class.
We were delighted when after taking a second look at all his class winners Mr Doak then awarded
Finlay 'Reserve Best In Show' !!
..........Finlay then pulled out all the stops on the race track and won the Grade 'B' racing and not to be outdone, young Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar' topped it all off by winning the Puppy Racing for the third month in a row !!

 Well Done team Rushden !

Saturday 21st July saw us at Man '0' War Charity Show where we had another very successful day with some of the whippets. Graham Meek (Brackaghmoss Border Terriers & Whippets) was our judge and he placed Ash, handled by Tracy, first in the numerically strong Whippet Pup class.  Janet got a second with Renoir in the Dog class and a third with Vixen In the Working Whippet Class.  Our two black girls, Ash & Vixen then went into the 'Whippet Pairs' class and won it ~ expertly handled by Janet !

Ash 'Rushden Black Caviar' was making her debut in England and she showed her socks off and won the Puppy Bitch Class amongst some bitches months older than herself!!
She then had to go up against the winner of the Minor Puppy Bitch Class so Best Puppy Bitch could be awarded ............ and she won, Ash was Best Puppy Bitch In Breed !!

Lola's Critique from Birmingham National ..........

We have been eagerly waiting to read Lola's critique from Birmingham National, where she won the Bitch CC under breed specialist Bitte Ahrens Primavera. Here it is, we are absolutely delighted with it !!

OPEN BITCH (19 – 2 abs)

Darker fawn brindle/white bitch of wonderful type and size. The most perfect balance between elegance and strength both standing and moving. Nothing exaggerated . Beautiful smooth curves from the head , neck, top line down to the rear angles. Perfect angulations in front and rear. Nice bone structure and correct feet. So full of superb qualities & very feminine. All this topped by her sound , low reaching and effective side gait,
made her win the CC this day! Just a beauty in motion! Thanks for showing her.

The racing at this event had been very well organised and the track covered about 200 yards up a wicked incline........ Vixen as always, put on a great performance, but on this occassion was beaten by a length to come 2nd in her heat.  The organisers had also arranged a'whippet puppy race' - 10 month old Finlay, who has been showing a keen interest in racing, took off up the hill after the lure at great speed, winning the race by several lengths.

Farewell Sweet Emma.....RIP (18/04/00 - 21/05/11)

We sadly had to say goodbye to our beautiful Emma 'Ir Ch. Barmaud Sweet Shannon', on 21st May. Emma was a truly wonderful whippet who in her prime not only excelled in the show ring, but also on the race field. She gained her Irish Title under judges from across the globe and won several Open Bitch classes at UK Championship Shows.  She loved to race and was the Whippet Race Champion at many  Game Fairs in Ireland ......yelping and barking crazily on the start line when race officials shook the lure infront of her!! In her latter years Emma suffered with arthritus in her joints and took up almost permanent residence in our living room .........apart from when a trip in the caravan was mentioned, Em had to be there with us !!

Rest In Peace sweet Emma........Run free from pain across the Rainbow Bridge. Gone but never forgotten xxx

'Rushden Where There's Smoke With Mossbawnhill' took the Best Puppy In Show award at the Hound Club of N.I. under Hound Specialist, Lyn Hewson (Rekaylahn) from the UK. This was young Smoke's debut in the showring and he certainly did it in style! We would like to congratulate Pamela & Ryan Hunter on this fabulous win with their Rushden lad........ We are sure it will be the
first of many.

A Fantastic Weekend For Rushden Whippets !!

The last weekend in September is a very busy weekend for 'showing whippets' in N. Ireland, with both Belfast Championship Show on the Saturday and The NIWC Championship Show on the Sunday................................

At Belfast show Judge Helen Fielden, awarded our Dante, 'Rushden New Approach' 2nd place in a strong Yearling Dog class. His brother Merlin 'Rushden Cast's A Spell Over Brackaghmoss' (owned and handled by Graham Meek) won Limit Dog, CC & BOB!!!
We were delighted for Graham and are very proud to have bred such a lovely whippet. We hope that Merlin's next 2 CC's are only just around the corner..................

At the NIWC Championship Show the following day Rushden Whippets were again in the cards. Breed specialist Bob Belshaw (Permadon) was awarding tickets for the first time. Dante again came 2nd in PGD. Nico 'Rushden Just A Gigolo'owned by Jan McKinley but handled by Tracy won the LD class, (thus gaining his Stud Book Number!) and in the same class Merlin was Reserve. In a moment of madness 'Team Rushden'(Graham with Merlin, Jan with Nico, Tracy with Lola & Janet wth Dante) then decided to enter the Breeder's Competition and won it for the second year in a row !!

What a fantastic weekend for Rushden, we are delighted that both judges thought so highly of our dogs !!

Dante at Darlington

We had only one whippet entered at Darlington Championship Show - Dante 'Rushden New Approach'. Our first home bred black with white trim boy has been doing us proud this year and   didn't disappoint at Darlington! Under Breed Specialist, Gay Robertson of the famous 'Moonlake Kennels', Dante was placed 3rd in a strong Yearling Dog Class.

Tia in full flight .......
We have received some stunning photo's from Billy Harpur showing Tia (Rushden Hot Gossip) doing what she loves best.........racing! Tia retired from the pedigree show ring several years ago and now enjoys showing and racing at game fairs and sporting events, where she has had considerable success!  We think Billy has really captured Tia's enthusiasm on the race field in this photo below. Thanks Billy!

.........and didn't they do well!!

Under Judge Mark Cocozza the boys won the Yearling Dog class and then went on to win the Reserve Dog Ticket (RCC).We are extremely proud of them both!! This fantastic win means that Merlin has now gained his Stud Book Number and is qualified for Crufts for life.
Congratulations guys !!

(This is the second RCC won by dogs from our very successful Gilnockie Black Magic CW'08 X Rushden Hot Gossip mating - The first being won by our own Dante, 'Rushden New Approach'  at W.E.L.K.S. a few months ago under breed specialist J. North-Row)

Miller's first trophy !!

Last Sunday (15th Aug.) we attended another Sporting Whippet Club N.I. show & race day at Dunsilly Kennels in Antrim. We decided to take one of the  pups from our Merlin X Damson litter with us for some socialisation. 'Miller', formally known as 'Rushden In The Mood' took everything in his stride ......so much so that we decided to enter him in the Whippet Pup show class. Imagine our amazement when , from a class of 13, the Judge selected Miller as the winner! We were so proud of him, he was only 15 weeks old and up against some lovely pups much older then himself. Here is a photo of him with his first trophy, hopefully the first of many !!

We were delighted when dog Judge Terry Nethercott placed 'Renoir' Rushden Impressionist 4th (Reserve) in the Mid-limit class from a sizeabe entry of 22 whippets.

In Special Junior Dog another Rushden whippet caught Mr Nethercotts eye
'Merlin'   Rushden Cast's A Spell Over Brackaghmoss was also awarded 4th in a class of 20. We are extremely proud of Merlin and his owner/handler Graham Meek who are turning into a real winning team! 😉
